Last weekend, on the Circum-Baikal Railway in the area of the village of Staraya Angasolka, the last project of the BBT autumn season was held, as well as the last project of the year! 🚫 ”Vasya was not here” 🚫 is a project aimed at cleaning coastal cliffs of inscriptions made by tourists. And the main goal of this work is to eliminate the consequences of vandalism and return the national sight to its original appearance. In the process, several types of chemicals were used to dissolve the paint. Volunteers applied them to areas of paint and after a short wait they scrubbed the letters with spatulas, metal brushes and screwdrivers with special nozzles. I must say that not all letters wanted to give in: the paint that had been on the rocks for more than 7 years was an order of magnitude more difficult to scrub! Undoubtedly, the scope of the project could not accommodate the entire amount of work on clearing the rocks on the Circum-Baikal Railway, for too long the tourists have diligently left their mark there. But this project set the stage for great work! This volunteer camp was held as part of the project “Preserving Nature, Working for People,” which is being implemented using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society provided by the Presidential Grants Fund.
