Work on the presidential grant 2020

On November 1, the GBT Association began work on the project “The GBT Experience for the Conservation of Nature and the Development of Local Communities”, supported by the Presidential Grants Fund. We are very pleased that our application won in the second competition in 2019 for the provision of grants by the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society. Project geography: Irkutsk region, Republic of Buryatia, Trans-Baikal Territory, Republic of Khakassia. The status of the Association allows us to expand our activities to all subjects of the Russian Federation in the framework of co-financing. Duration of the project: from 01/01/2019 to 12/31/2020. Our project work plans: - We plan to equip and reconstruct 50 km of the most popular ecotropic canvases in the territory of the Pribaikalsky National Park as part of the creation of the GBT model section on Baikal, as well as continue the construction of the path section in the Baikal Reserve; - We will carry out educational volunteer projects, interactive classes on the topics of nature conservation, the development of volunteering for children from settlements on Lake Baikal; - We will start conducting year-round consultations (in person and remotely), as well as prepare a distance course on the development of ecotourism, the creation of infrastructure, in particular, ecotropic and working with volunteers; - We will conduct demonstration practical projects on the construction of paths and work with volunteers in two regions of the Russian Federation. - As part of the preliminary work on the creation of the “Baikal Center for the Sustainable Development of Tourism, Environmental Education and Local Initiatives”, we will develop and conduct in several settlements points on Baikal training on the development of ecotourism, we will create the necessary collection system local initiatives to analyze the needs of the territories and better planning volunteer projects in Baikal; - We will carry out projects to equip the 14 km route in a regional nature park on the Olkhinsky plateau, created by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Irkutsk Region on the initiative of local communities.
