The GBT works to protect the natural and cultural heritage of the larger Lake Baikal region.
The GBT runs a number of volunteer projects that help us protect the environment, including: trail-building, restoration, tree-planting, and other clean-up projects.
The GBT leads outdoor education projects for kids from local towns and villages, including such projects as "Backpacking" along the trail" and "If we help the natural world we are also helping ourselves."
The GBT is building up infra-structure for tourism by constructing new eco-trails that are replete with interpretive signs and informational displays and other structural improvements.
Socially Responsible Tourism
With our "Tourism with a Purpose" program the GBT promotes eco travel, and also supports local communities by investing in the sustainable development of the places that tourists visit.
Our Training Center
The GBT conducts many seminars, webinars, and other trainings to develop leaders all over Russia in the fields of eco-tourism, volunteer management, and environmental activism.
